Claude & AI Assistants
Connect Servelo to Claude and ask it about your work in plain language. Claude can look up tickets, clients, quotes, invoices, and assets, and it can create or update records for you. It works through your own Servelo login, so it can only see and do what you can.
What you can ask
Once connected, just talk to Claude about your business. It figures out which Servelo records to look at. A few examples:
- "What tickets are still open for Riverside Dental, and when was the last visit?"
- "What jobs are scheduled this week, and who is assigned to each?"
- "Create a ticket for Maple Street Clinic: printer offline in the front office, high priority."
- "Draft an invoice for Tuesday's visit to Harbor Auto: 2 hours labor at $95 an hour plus a replacement switch."
- "Which invoices are unpaid over 30 days, and who owes the most?"
- "Add a note to ticket 1042 that the part is on backorder until Friday."
Quotes and invoices that Claude creates are saved as drafts. Nothing is sent to a customer until you review it and send it from Servelo.
Connect Claude
Each person connects from their own Claude account. You need a Claude plan that supports custom connectors.
- In Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app), open Settings > Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Give it a name (for example, Servelo) and enter the connector URL:
https://serveloapp.com/mcp - Click Connect. Claude opens a Servelo sign-in page. Sign in to your workspace if you aren't already.
- Review the request and click Approve. You're sent back to Claude and the connection is ready.
Admins can copy the connector URL from Settings > Integrations > Claude and other AI assistants.
Claude Code
Developers can connect Claude Code the same way. Run this in a terminal, then start Claude Code and use /mcp to sign in:
claude mcp add --transport http servelo https://serveloapp.com/mcp
Claude Code shows up as its own entry in Connected Apps, separate from Claude on the web or desktop.
Other AI assistants
Servelo's connector uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) with standard OAuth sign-in. Other apps that support remote MCP connectors with OAuth can connect using the same URL. Claude is the assistant we test against, so steps in other apps may differ.
What the connector can access
| Area | Can do |
|---|---|
| Tickets | List, view, create, update, add comments |
| Clients | List, view, create, update |
| Quotes | List, view, create (as draft) |
| Invoices | List, view, create (as draft) |
| Assets | List, view |
| Technicians | List |
| Revenue and expenses | List |
| Everything else | Search across records, dashboard summary |
The connector cannot delete anything, send quotes or invoices to customers, change users, billing, or plans, or touch security settings like passwords, two-factor, or SSO.
Permissions and privacy
- Your permissions, nothing more. Every request runs as the person who connected. A technician's Claude sees what that technician sees in Servelo.
- One workspace. A connection is tied to the workspace you signed in to. It can't reach any other workspace.
- Logged. Every action Claude takes appears in the Audit Log under the connected user.
- Stops automatically. If a user is deactivated or the workspace is suspended, their connections stop working immediately.
- Only what you ask for. Claude only reads Servelo data when a conversation needs it. Your Servelo data is not used to train AI models by Servelo. How Claude handles conversation data is covered by your agreement with Anthropic.
Workspace controls (admins)
Admins decide who can connect from Settings > Integrations > Claude and other AI assistants. Under Who can connect, pick one:
| Setting | What happens |
|---|---|
| Everyone (default) | Any user in the workspace can connect an assistant with their own permissions. |
| Admins only | Only admins can connect. Existing connections from other users stop working right away. |
| Off | No one can connect, and every existing connection stops working right away. |
Changing the setting doesn't delete anyone's connection. If you switch back to Everyone, paused connections start working again without anyone reconnecting. To remove a connection for good, use Disconnect.
The same card lists every active connection in the workspace, showing which person it belongs to, which app, and when it was last used. Click Disconnect to cut off any of them. Changes to the setting and admin disconnects are recorded in the Audit Log.
Manage your connections
Admins manage their own connections, along with everyone else's, in Settings > Integrations. Everyone else sees and removes their own connections under My Account > Connected Apps. Each app you've connected appears once, with when it was connected and last used. Claude on the web or desktop and Claude Code count as separate apps, so you may see both.
Click Disconnect to revoke access immediately. You can also remove the connector from Claude's own settings, but disconnecting in Servelo is what guarantees access is cut off.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Your workspace admin has turned off connected apps" | An admin has set Who can connect to Off. Ask them to turn it back on. |
| "Your workspace admin has limited connected apps to admins" | Only admins can connect right now. Ask an admin to switch the setting to Everyone. |
| Claude says the Servelo connector needs to be reconnected | The connection was disconnected, has been unused for 90 days, or your account was deactivated. Reconnect from Claude's Connectors settings. |
| Claude can't find a record you can see | Make sure you signed in to the right workspace when connecting. Check My Account > Connected Apps in that workspace. |
| An action fails with a permission error | Claude has your role's permissions. If you can't do it in Servelo, Claude can't either. |
Developers looking for protocol details can find them in the API Reference.
